The Value of Love

Love is so highly prized by God that He created man with the ability to choose it or ignore it. No inbuilt programming to serve and obey could possibly satisfy His heart. Instead, He freed us to love, or not to love, as we saw fit.

As amazing as this is, the greater reality is that His love is not affected or controlled by ours. He is love and He freely chooses to love whether that love is responded to or not.

It was love that brought God’s Son to a planet marred by sin. He not only left the luxury of heaven, but He faced rejection, opposition, and death. In love, He became the very sin He abhorred. By paying its full price, He revealed a love that we can never fully comprehend.

Nothing can separate us from this love. No devil can overcome it, nor can any need overwhelm it. It is ours for the choosing. We simply need to say yes, and the amazing, steadfast, everlasting love of Almighty God is ours.
