Delight in the Light

Don't hide in the darkness. Sin will take you there. Shame will keep you there. Darkness feels safe; it asks no questions and validates the lies. It gives license to anger, frustration, judgment, and shame. But darkness makes captives of all who seek refuge there.

Darkness proclaims that it is the just reward of sinful ways. It speaks of recompense. It advocates a self-centered justice, where you live the verdict of condemning thoughts, and shattered emotions.

I came to set captives free. I came to destroy the works of darkness, and to recover all that was lost in the fall. Darkness is not your home. Guilt, and shame, are not the covering I have for you. They are prison clothes woven with lies and covered with the stench of sin.

Leave the darkness of the devil's lies, and live within the glorious light, of all that has been freely given. Let light fashion a home of liberty and love. It brightens the shadows and dispels the fear. Light loosens the layers of sin and shame. It fills the heart with song and paints the horizon with promises.

So come, walk out of the darkness and into My light. Hear heaven’s verdict of “forgiven, and free”. Dance in the liberty of My light. Find peace and laughter in the presence of light - My light. The light of My love and My mercy. Delight in the light and leave the lair of darkness. Find your home, your eternal dwelling place, in the light of all that I am.
