Turning the Page
Life is often like a book we get to write in. Chapters pass and seasons come and go. The start of a new year signals the turning of the page and the chance to start afresh and write another chapter of our lives.
As we start a new year, what are the things you want left in the previous chapter? What are the issues you no longer want to colour the next season of your life – the habits or mistakes that dirty the pages of your dreams?
As we read back over the pages of our life, we often see the struggles and the failures as we strive to live well and honour God. The trouble is that most of those chapters have us as the main character of our story. We see the effort, the plans, the successes, and all too often, the failures.
As we turn the page of yet another year, I encourage you to change your style of writing. Write from the perspective of heaven – see yourself as part of a bigger story. Your chapters aren’t just your story – they are God’s story. He is the true author and is working your life according to a glorious plan. Heaven waits to reveal the beauty and mystery of the God who lives within your story. So, as you turn the page, get ready to write your best chapter yet.
