Against the Odds
Odds are man’s reckoning. They are the reasoned calculation of those who consider facts. God however is not confined by our precepts or limited by our calculations. He is a God who delights to take the simple and make it profound. He uses the foolish, even the disdained things of flesh, and makes them mighty.
Paul said to the Corinthians, “You see your calling brethren, …” (1 Corinthains 1:26). Do you see yours? Or are you like the Corinthians, caught up in the adulation of the strong, the prominent and the mighty? Can you look beyond this to a God who calls His people to stand up and beat the odds?
What odds are you facing? What do you think you cannot do? Let God take what you are not, and do something magnificent through you, and beat the odds.
